VeriTest Independent Test Report for EpiForce VM Performance and
VMotion Interoperability in
VMware ESX 3.5.0
EpiForce VM was tested against three key applications: Microsoft Exchange 2007, Oracle 10G and virtual machine-based file servers running on VMware ESX Server. In terms of performance, Apani EpiForce VM performed exceptionally well on all three application platforms. Key findings from the testing include:
EpiForce VM using Integrity mode demonstrated only a 4.4% increase in CPU load above baseline and only a 4.3% decrease in throughput on the ESX host, a statistically minor variance;
Under all EpiForce VM workloads, the Exchange 2007 VM demonstrated the ability to perform well below the 1000ms SendMail latency threshold;
Under all EpiForce VM workloads, the Oracle 10g VM performance remained statistically the same compared to baseline;
Adding FileServer ESX VMs for network-intensive simulation demonstrated encrypted throughput increase linearly with virtually no impact on CPU utilization
VMware VI3 hot (VMotion) and cold migration processes worked seamlessly with the EpiForce VM installation. The Apani agents automatically re-established communication and the corresponding security policies after the migration.
Effectively Securing Virtualized Data Centers
This white paper will examine the challenges in securing virtualized environments and how a cross platform virtual security solution can overcome these challenges.
